Chapter Members Volunteer for PBS Fundraiser

Members of the Arizona Chapter worked the phones for a good cause to raise funds for KAET-TV (PBS Channel 8) during a December pledge drive in Tempe.  From l. to r. SCF Arizona / ASSE Safety Works 2006

Chapter President Denis White thanks Tim Little, City of Phoenix, with a handshake and Safety Consultant Larry Oman at the ASSE Arizona Chapter information booth on March 7, 2006. The safety works conference offered an OSHA 10-hour construction course as well as 27 additional classes during the two-day event held at the Mesa Centennial Center. Some of the provided classes addressed such safety topics as JSAs, behavioral safety, blood borne Pathogens, confined space, work zone safety, CDL enforcement and fall protection. The conference, sponsored by SCF Arizona and the Arizona ASSE Chapter, drew upwards of 700 visitors during the course of both days.

Partnering with Families at Work

Dawn Orgill and Joe Brady of Partnership for a Drug-Free America, Arizona Chapter discuss during the Sept. 7 Chapter Luncheon Meeting that employers have a vested interest in helping their employees prevent family substance abuse. The near-capacity crowd leaned that employees who have children with substance abuse problems are more likely to suffer from decreased morale and productivity on the job as well as the signs to prevent and head off possible substance abuse problems before they become catastrophic.

Taking Care of Chapter Business

The executive board listens to the Treasurer's report from Chapter Treasurer David Bellmont during the Arizona Chapter Board Meeting held May 4, 2007. The chapter officers meet from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. the first Friday of each month in the second floor west conference room at SCF Arizona, 3030 N. 3rd Street. ASSE members and the public are always welcome to attend.

June 2007 Lunch Meeting

AZ Chapter, SCF Deliver Safety Expo 2007

Scott Geller, Ph.D, acclaimed safety researcher and professor, provided the keynote address to an entralled audience of several hundred at the Arizona Chapter of ASSE and SCF Arizona's Safety Works Expo in Mesa on March 13, 2007.

ASSE Arizona Chapter officers examine educational opportunities in safety during a presentation by Grand Canyon University representatives at the May 4, 2007 board meeting held at SCF Arizona.
